Beryllium copper (BeCu) is a copper-based alloy containing a small percentage of beryllium and, depending on the alloy, other elements. In beryllium copper metal stamping, this material is valued for its:

In beryllium copper metal stamping, proper heat treatment is essential to achieve required mechanical properties. Common cold-worked tempers include:


  • TD01 (1/4 Hard)

  • TD02 (1/2 Hard)

  • TD03 (3/4 Hard)

  • TD04 (Full Hard)


After forming, BeCu components can be age hardened to achieve higher strength and the required final mechanical properties. Our in-house age-hardening process helps maintain dimensional control and production consistency.



Copper Nickel Tin: An Alternative to Beryllium Copper


For some applications, we recommend C72900 (Copper Nickel Tin) as an alternative material. For some spring and electrical contact applications, C72900 copper-nickel-tin can be considered as an alternative to beryllium copper.


  • High strength and good spring properties

  • Beryllium-free alloy

  • Good resistance to stress relaxation

  • Can provide good dimensional stability during age hardening
